All 18 Minigames

Back

Minigame Marathon shuffles 18 hand-built minigames into one run. Each round gives you a single sentence of instruction and a few seconds to act, which means knowing the games in advance is the biggest advantage you can have. Below is every minigame with its goal, its controls, the mistake that ends most runs and what changes when the marathon speeds up at 5,000, 10,000 and 20,000 points.

The notes come from playtesting the game while building it, not from a generic list. If a tip sounds oddly specific, it is because it fixed a real problem during development.

Skill categories

Every minigame belongs to one of eight skill groups. A run mixes them deliberately, so you rarely get two similar challenges in a row:

  • Reaction3 minigames
  • Timing4 minigames
  • Memory1 minigame
  • Focus2 minigames
  • Control3 minigames
  • Pattern3 minigames
  • Endurance1 minigame
  • Trap1 minigame

Every minigame in detail

Click the Bird

Reaction

Goal
A bird crosses the play field on a curved path. Hit it with a single click or tap before it leaves the screen.
Controls
Mouse click or touch tap.
Most common mistake
Chasing the bird with the cursor. The bird moves faster than most hand corrections, so aiming at a point ahead of it works better than following it.
At higher speed levels
Later tiers send two and then three birds with shorter flight times, and you must catch all of them in the same round.

Not the Bomb!

Reaction

Goal
Collect every fruit scattered on the field without touching a single bomb.
Controls
Click or tap each fruit.
Most common mistake
Stopping once the field looks empty. Leftover fruit costs a life just like a bomb, so scan the corners before the timer runs out.
At higher speed levels
More fruit, more bombs and tighter spacing between them, so pixel-accurate taps matter.

Tap Fast!

Endurance

Goal
Reach the required number of presses before the timer expires.
Controls
Tap the button, or hold the spacebar rhythm on desktop.
Most common mistake
Using one finger on a phone. Alternating two thumbs is roughly twice as fast.
At higher speed levels
The required tap count rises each tier while the time window shrinks.

Pick the Color

Focus

Goal
A color word is printed in a different ink color. Choose the ink, never the word.
Controls
Click or tap the matching answer button.
Most common mistake
Reading the word out loud in your head. Blur your focus slightly and judge the color first, then look at the options.
At higher speed levels
More answer options and a shorter decision window.

Inflate the Balloon

Timing

Goal
Pump the balloon until the pressure marker sits inside the green target zone, then stop.
Controls
Hold the button, or hold the spacebar.
Most common mistake
Releasing at the center of the zone. Air keeps flowing briefly, so let go just before it.
At higher speed levels
The target zone narrows and the pump speed increases.

Smallest First

Focus

Goal
Tap the scattered numbers in ascending order without a mistake.
Controls
Click or tap.
Most common mistake
Searching one number at a time. Locate the two lowest values during the intro so the first two taps are instant.
At higher speed levels
The count grows from four up to seven numbers with a shorter timer.

Dodge!

Reaction

Goal
Survive the falling rocks until the round ends.
Controls
Arrow keys, or drag your finger left and right.
Most common mistake
Watching your own character. Watch the top of the screen so you read rock paths early.
At higher speed levels
Rocks fall faster, spawn more often and arrive in overlapping pairs.

Open the Doors

Pattern

Goal
Press the direction that matches the side the door knob is on.
Controls
Arrow keys or the four on-screen direction buttons.
Most common mistake
Reacting to the door animation instead of the knob. Only the knob position matters.
At higher speed levels
More doors per round and much less time per door.

Memorize & Press

Memory

Goal
Watch a color sequence light up in a 3x3 grid, then repeat it in the same order.
Controls
Click or tap the tiles.
Most common mistake
Memorizing colors. Memorize positions, grouped in pairs, and colors take care of themselves.
At higher speed levels
The sequence grows longer and each flash gets shorter.

Balloon to the Goal

Control

Goal
Flap through every gate and reach the finish line. This game has no timer, so precision beats speed.
Controls
Click, tap or spacebar to flap.
Most common mistake
Panic-flapping. A steady rhythm of small flaps keeps the balloon at gate height.
At higher speed levels
More gates with narrower openings and moving gate positions.

Hit the Target

Timing

Goal
Shoot the target while it sweeps back and forth above you.
Controls
Click, tap or spacebar to fire.
Most common mistake
Firing at the target's current position. Fire at the position it is moving into.
At higher speed levels
The sweep speeds up, the target shrinks and direction changes become irregular.

Home Run!

Timing

Goal
Swing exactly as the pitch reaches the plate.
Controls
Click, tap or spacebar to swing.
Most common mistake
Counting time. Use the growing size of the approaching ball as your cue instead.
At higher speed levels
Faster pitches and varying release timing.

Connect the Wires

Pattern

Goal
Drag each wire to the port of the same color.
Controls
Drag with the mouse or your finger.
Most common mistake
Starting with the wire nearest your hand. Connect the color that appears only once first, so fewer options remain later.
At higher speed levels
More wire pairs and colors that sit closer together on the panel.

Balance the Ice Cream

Control

Goal
Keep the stack of scoops upright until the round ends.
Controls
Move the mouse or finger sideways, or use the arrow keys.
Most common mistake
Over-correcting. Move the cone slightly in the direction the stack leans, then stop and let it settle.
At higher speed levels
More scoops on the stack and a faster tipping response.

Catch Him!

Control

Goal
Bounce the falling person on your trampoline until he lands safely.
Controls
Move the trampoline with mouse, finger or arrow keys.
Most common mistake
Following his current position. Move to the point where he will land and wait there.
At higher speed levels
He bounces higher, further and faster after every contact.

Ring Rhythm

Timing

Goal
Tap each incoming ring at the moment it overlaps the target circle.
Controls
Click, tap or spacebar.
Most common mistake
Tapping when the ring looks close. Wait for the outlines to line up exactly.
At higher speed levels
Higher ring speed, shorter gaps, and burst and pair patterns instead of single rings.

Fit the Block

Pattern

Goal
Rotate and position the falling block so it fits the gap in the wall below.
Controls
Arrow keys or the rotate and move buttons.
Most common mistake
Rotating while the block is already low. Set the rotation first, then adjust the column.
At higher speed levels
More block shapes, tighter gaps and a faster fall speed.

Don't Press It!

Trap

Goal
Do absolutely nothing. Survive the round without touching the big red button.
Controls
None. That is the entire challenge.
Most common mistake
Treating it like every other round. Take your hand off the screen until the round ends.
At higher speed levels
The button grows larger and wobbles more invitingly at higher tiers.
